Dateline: NASHVILLE (Documentary Poetry as Historic Storytelling)

Docupoetics allows the poet to become journalist, investigator and historian by exploring history in verse. In this workshop, we'll take a look at writings about documentary poetry & some examples like Molly McCully Brown, Natasha Trethewey, Adrian Matejka and others. Using Nashville history as writing prompts, we'll generate some new work. Students will have time to explore other narratives they may wish to tell, as well.
